Dear Core Users:
Our FY'18 service fee structure has now been set after discussion with Partners Research Finance Management and goes into effect as of October 1, 2017. The new service fees reflect small increases in the costs of reagents, consumables and labor, and these fees support both our continuous process improvement efforts and the implementation of additional and/or improved service features, in particular for our various high-demand Next-Gen Sequencing applications. Although we would like to keep our current rates, these increases were mandated by Partners policies that dictate that Cores recover their operating costs while not generating revenues in excess of their operating costs. Please be assured that we have done our best to hold down costs for you but we do not want to compromise on quality. Our new rates guarantee that we can continue to provide the same level of quality and service that you have come to expect from us, and that we can continue to develop new service applications for you.
All orders that started being processed this month but are completed on or after October 1, 2017, will be invoiced at current (FY'17) pricing. Orders that are placed close to the end of September but are not processed before October 1, 2017, will be invoiced according to our new FY'18 pricing structure.

Dear Core Users:
Our FY16 service fee structure has now been set after discussion with Partners Research Finance
Management and will be effective October 1, 2015. The new service fees reflect the continuing
increases in the costs of reagents, consumables and labor, and allow us to guarantee that
the top-quality of our services will not be compromised in any way and to sustain our
continued process improvements efforts. Although we would very much like to retain our
current rates, these increases were mandated by Partners policies that dictate that Cores
recover their operating costs while not generating revenues in excess of their operating costs.
Thank you for your continuing patronage and support!

The CCIB DNA Core is excited to announce the launch of its newly designed and
improved website, which goes live today, Tuesday 8th July 2014 and is located
at this URL address: https://ccibtest0.mgh.harvard.edu:8443/new-cgi-bin/.
Our goal for the new website is to improve user friendliness,
usability and appeal and to provide our current and prospective customers
with an easier way to learn about our service portfolio with most accurate information.
The new segmentation of the entrance to our service portfolio allows visitors to enter
either via the service category or via a specific service of interest.
Our clients can access information easily and on their own choice rather than sift
through everything to decide and/or to find what is of interest to them.
The addition of a search functionality to the new site allows to search the
website content. The website will be updated on a regular basis,
with news, service launches and new content.
For the next couple of weeks, you will be able to toggle between the new and the old
site. Once the old site retires, you will be automatically redirected to the new URL.
If you should experience any problems viewing the new website with your PC or MAC
or notice that any links are not working, please do get in touch to
let us know.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please
contact us via email
or
leave us your thoughts in our feedback form.
We would really welcome your comments both positive and negative.
We hope you will enjoy our new site, finding more service options and information each time!

Dear Clients:
We would like to update you on our FY14 service fee structure, which has now been set after discussion with Partners Research Finance Management and will be effective October 1, 2013. The new service fees, which entail increases in some service costs, reflect modest increases in the associated reagent and labor costs. We are pleased to announce that the fees for our Oligonucleotide Synthesis and Mouse Genotyping services remain the same as in the previous fiscal year. Wherever fees have been increased, these increases were mandated by Partners policies that dictate that Cores recover their operating costs while not generating revenues in excess of their operating costs.
Throughout the previous fiscal year, the Core has strongly engaged in continuous process improvement efforts to further increase the value of existing services and to rollout new Custom Molecular Biology & Sequencing services. Also in the new fiscal year, the Core will stay committed to evaluating and developing new services in order to meet the changing research needs of the Partners research community.
Thank you for your patronage!!!
Sincerely,
The CCIB Team

Dear DNA Core Customers,
We are pleased to announce that effective immediately the CCIB DNA Core Facility will provide online access to oligonucleotide specifications for all DNA synthesis orders. Sincerely,
The CCIB DNA Core Staff

Dear DNA Core Customers,
We are pleased to announce that effective immediately the DNA Core Facility will be providing a Long-Read DNA Sequencing Service as part of its Custom Molecular Biology & Sequencing Service portfolio. Compared to our standard sequencing protocol (typical Q20 read length > 700 bases), this new service delivers an additional 200 bases on average and can yield up to 1000 Q20 bases per sample. At this point in time, a minimum of 12 samples has to be submitted to take advantage of this service. Turnaround is between 24 and 48 hours. Please note that the rates for the new long-read service (detailshere) differ from those of our standard sequencing services and reflect slightly increased costs due to the implementation of a separate workflow, increased instrument time, and processing of partially filled plates.
Sample Submission for Long-Read Sequencing:
Please select the Long Read Sequencing option from the order menu under the Sequencing tab of our website and complete the submission sheet using the same guidelines that are in place for standard read sequencing orders.
Looking very much forward to process your orders!
Sincerely,
The CCIB DNA Core
Dear MGH DNA Core Client:
In the context of our continuous process improvement efforts, we are implementing a revised sequencing workflow on February 1, 2013. As a result of this process change, sequencing ordersas well asplasmid preparations for sequencingcan contain amaximum of 95 samples per plate. Effective February 1, 2013, well positionH12must be left empty for all plate orders. Full plate submissions of 95 samples will still be charged at the current rates. Thank you for helping us to serve you even better!

We would like to inform you about our new and enhanced services we have begun to offer and our FY13 service fee structure, which has now been set after discussion with Partners Research Finance Management and will be effective January 1, 2013. These fees, which entail increases in some service costs, reflect modest increases in some reagent and labor costs. We are pleased to announce that the fees for our bulk sequencing, bulk microsatellite analysis and 96-well plasmid preparation services remain the same as in the previous fiscal year. Wherever fees have been increased, these increases were mandated by Partners policies that dictate that Cores recover their operating costs while not generating revenues in excess of their operating costs.
As a result of the Core's continuous process improvement efforts and its commitment to constantly evaluate and develop new services in order to meet the changing research needs of the Partners research community in a timely manner, we are pleased to announce the launch of our new Custom Molecular Biology and Sequencing Services that include our previous Plasmid Verification and Primer Walking Services, midi- and maxi-scale plasmid DNA preparations as well as special sequencing protocols. A detailed description of our new custom service portfolio will be provided on our new and improved website which we are planning to launch in February 2013. Until then, please contact Dr. Nicole Stange-Thomann, Core Director, directly for more information (email nstange-thomann@ccib.mgh.harvard.edu).
In January 2013, we will also send out a survey to kindly ask for your valuable feedback on the DNA Core's overall performance as well as the quality of its individual services and your suggestions for further improvements and additional new services.
The MGH DNA Core is committed to providing timely help to investigators in solving critical and diverse biological/biomedical questions by providing a portfolio of state-of-the-art molecular biology and genomics services, specialized expertise, detailed advice and individual support. We are looking forward to support your research needs through FY13 and beyond.
Thank you for choosing the MGH DNA Core as your research partner!
